Glenwherry Presbyterian Ordains Three Elders

Glenwherry Presbyterian ordains three men to the Ruling Eldership of the church.

A Commission of Ballymena Presbytery met at the Glenwherry church on Sunday 24th April 2016 to ordain the three men. Messrs Geoff McKane, Brian McKinstry and Nigel Moorehead were inducted on to the session before a packed congregation of worshippers, which included numerous family and friends.

Their Service of Ordination was conducted by the Moderator of Presbytery, Rev. Norman Cameron (High Kirk) and Rev. Martin McNeely (Ballykeel Presbyterian) preached the ‘charge’ to the incoming Elders
Rev. Mark Neilly (Buckna) delivered the Scriptural Warrant and the Rule of Faith was read by the Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Joseph Andrews.

Glenwherry Presbyterian ordains new elders at a recent service in the church.

Afterwards, everyone moved to the adjoining hall where they enjoyed a delicious supper, which had been diligently prepared by the Elder’s wives.
Subsequently, congratulations were extended to the new members of Session on behalf of Ballymena Presbytery by Rev. Cameron.
Glenwherry’s own Minister, Rev. Noel Mulholland, also spoke warmly to his colleagues, saying: “I sincerely look forward to working together with these three men and the rest of the session as we seek God’s guidance for the future of Glenwherry Presbyterian.”
