A Night of Praise & Testimony at Ballee Mission Hall, Ballymena // Tuesday 23rd June 2026

A special night of Praise & Testimony in memory of Stephen Lamont will take place at Ballee Mission Hall, 27 Old Antrim Road, Ballymena on Tuesday 23rd June at 7.30pm.

Plans had originally been made for this evening when Stephen (who grew up in the Ballee and Harryville area and maintained strong links with the community throughout his life) would come and share his testimony. He was looking forward to speaking about how the Lord had saved him, restored him, used him in His service, and in the past year had given him much faith and strength through his battle with cancer. However, this was not the Lord’s will. On 11th May 2026, the Lord called Stephen home to be with Him, perfectly and eternally healing him from cancer and bringing him into His presence.

After much prayer, the Lamont family have decided to continue with the event as a way of remembering and honouring a much-loved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and servant of Christ.
The family’s message is simple:
“In loving memory of our Dad, we invite you to join us as we share what God has done in our family and proclaim the hope of the Gospel to our community.”

Through the testimonies of three of Stephen’s sons – Geoffrey, Gary, and Andrew – we will seek to answer three important questions:
• What happens when God transforms a family?
• How does God sustain His people through life’s hardest battles?
• What difference can Jesus make to you, your family, and your community?

“Come and hear how God has worked in our family through both joy and sorrow, through struggles with mental health, heartbreak, loss, and life’s many challenges, as we seek to honour the Lord and remember a father whose life and testimony pointed many people to Christ.”

During the evening, members of the praise groups from First Ballymena Presbyterian Church (Stephen’s church family) and New Dawn Church (Gary’s church family) will join together in a time of praise and worship.

Everyone is welcome, and we extend a special invitation to those from our local community.

The family say, “We have deliberately chosen a midweek evening, away from the busyness of weekends and family time, and a familiar mission hall setting rather than a traditional church venue. Our hope is that people will feel comfortable coming along (just as they are), listening to real-life stories, and considering life’s most important questions.
Our vision is simple: to reconnect those who perhaps feel forgotten by the church, with an all-loving God who knows them, cares for them, and can transform their lives just as He has transformed the Lamont family. We sincerely hope and pray that you will join us.”

Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
