Afternoon Tea fundraiser for The Francina Foundation

You are invited to an Afternoon Tea fundraiser for The Francina Foundation taking place on Saturday 24th November 2018.

The venue is High Kirk Church, Ballymena, so if you’re in the town anytime between 12:30pm and 4pm why not call in and support them.

The Francina Foundation is a Ballymena based charity which works with its partners in India. Together they are bringing relief from poverty, encouraging educational attainment and developing sustainable long term facilities for those marginalised by society.

Their reason for getting involved in this work is stated clearly on their website –

Sometimes: you see such suffering, such poverty, such depravity, such loneliness that your heart breaks and you cannot stem the tears;
Sometimes: you are left despairing at man’s inhumanity to their fellow man and wonder how we have got to such a place in our world;
Sometimes: you realise that your faith, your values, your need to do something have prepared you ‘for such a time as this’.

It is in response to these, all too often, ‘sometimes’ that the Francina Foundation has developed its sense of vision and purpose for India.

Sometimes: you just have to ‘do’ – and leave a legacy.

in High Kirk Church, Ballymena on 24th November from 12:30pm to 4pm.

We met a spokesperson for the event who told us more,

“A team of volunteers from The Francina Foundation are heading out to India in January 2019. We are going to visit our projects there and in particular attend the dedication of the Rose of Sharon building in the town of Sasalu. It will become a much-needed women’s refuge centre. The building itself was finished recently but the money raised at our Afternoon Tea will help to pay for the fit-out of this lovely building. It will also help with work at Victory Children’s Home, also in Sasalu.

If you’re in Ballymena on 24th then please join us in High Kirk, enjoy some food and help us support our friends in India.”
