An incredible feat for Canon Stuart Lloyd as he raises funds for Christian Aid Week 2026
Not just a fast, but an incredible feat! Canon Stuart Lloyd managed to go 72 hours without food to raise funds for Christian Aid Week 2026.
Canon Lloyd, who served for 27 years as Rector of Ballymena and now lives in the nearby village of Broughshane, raised more than £3,350, with much of the money coming from the Broughshane parishioners, as well as from the wider community.
On business hours during his three fast days, he sat in the mall outside McNeill’s hardware and grocery store in the village, collecting donations and raising awareness of Christian Aid’s work.
Christian Aid Ireland Chief Executive Rosamond Bennett said: “We are enormously grateful to Canon Lloyd for his incredible self-sacrifice and to everyone who sponsored him so generously.”
