Hope and a Future charity seeks financial support

For over ten years now, Randalstown based charity Hope and a Future has been helping people in the town of Shashemene, one of the poorest regions in Ethiopia. Its central aim is to fulfil the words of Jeremiah 29 verse 11 through the provision of education.

They are asking for your financial support, and also Christian books in good condition which you are willing to donate, in order to continue with their outreach work.

Hope and a Future charity seeks financial support

To date, the charity has founded two schools in the area. One of these schools is officially recognised by the Ethiopian government as the nation’s third best educational establishment.
Each day, the 500 children educated by Hope and a Future are given the chance to develop academically. They also enjoy a nourishing meal and are trained in basic hygiene. This last aspect of the charity’s work has led to a dramatic reduction in death rates among young people in the region. Fifty people are also employed in the two schools as teachers, teaching assistants, guards and administrative staff.

In addition, the organisation has opened a new youth centre. Similar premises suitable for people with disabilities is planned but more finances are urgently needed. The charity is funded entirely by donations and more support is a must if their life-changing work is to continue.
