Mission Possible Supports Street Children in Colombia

Formed 11 years ago, Mission Possible supports street children in Colombia. Set up by Joe and Sadie Law and their friend Nancy Bell in 2006, the charity has made such a positive impact to the lives of many of Bogota’s street children. Their current goal is to extend the support they offer, so many more young children can have hope, both physically and spiritually.

Mission Possible, working with the Christian Fellowship Church in Bogota, have already opened Hope House 1 for boys and Hope House 2 for girls. These two homes have provided a safe environment for many children who have been subjected to all kinds of abuse. Experiences which children, or indeed anyone, should not have to suffer. But these two houses provide much needed love & care. They give the children an opportunity to get an education. All this in a Christian environment where they can hear and more importantly experience God’s love.

Living in Hope House 1 for boys now means this young guy can get a good education.

Another project which Mission Possible are currently funding is the construction of a cultural centre. This is being built in a very poor district of Bogota called Juan Rey. Here around 800,000 people live and there is currently no evangelical church presence. This building will be used as a feeding station as well as a church.

The exciting news is that, God willing, the building will be completed by the end of 2017. However they need help! There is still quite a bit of fundraising to be done to pay for this work. But what a great opportunity for us here, to be a part of reaching this huge area in Bogota with the Gospel!

The Bible says, ‘Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.’ Through the cultural centre project, Mission Possible will be able to bring life!

If you feel you can financially support Mission Possible you can donate via their give.net page here. Prayer would also be much appreciated, especially for the continuing work in their two children’s residential homes as well as the cultural centre. If you would like to find out more about how Mission Possible supports street children in Colombia, phone 07709 156 112.
