A House of Prayer Ireland Election Prayer Night has been organised for Wednesday 1st March 2017.
The Prayer Night will be at The Mill, 7 Calvin Street, Belfast BT5 4NS and starts at 7:30pm.
A spokesperson for House of Prayer Ireland says the following.
“As we know there is an election taking place on the 2nd March 2017. Stormont needs the prayers of a united Church.
When we, as Christians, unite to pray for our land, we align ourselves with the will of Jesus. With Assembly elections approaching, we have an opportunity to come together and pray and praise God. To give Him the worship He deserves. Call out to Him for the welfare of our land. To ask for wisdom in our political leadership. To declare His Kingdom to come and His will to be done. Through prayer we can model to the rest of our society that there is strength in unity and hope in Jesus name. We pray for our government because we believe prayer works. We pray for wisdom, for healing in our land and that we may see the dividing walls of hostility come crashing down.”
They added: “It is the Church who must endeavour to be the very embodiment of unity and forgiveness in Northern Ireland, because it is us who have experienced the grace and forgiveness of God.
Let’s pray for our government. For those who have been in office and for those who are about to be elected, that we may ‘live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth’ 1 Timothy 2”, said the spokesperson.
