New Song Gospel Concert To Support Heartbeat NI

A New Song Gospel Concert to support Heartbeat NI is being held on Saturday 21st January 2017 at 7:30pm. Wellington Presbyterian Church Hall, Sourhill Rd, Ballymena is hosting the event. This is a change in venue from previous New Song events and the organisers appreciate the kindness shown by the people of Wellington.

Taking part on the evening are Live Issue. They are considered by many to be one of the most popular Country Gospel groups in the British Isles. This is not only for their musical and singing ability but also for their warmth, humility, sense of humour and love for the Lord. This is clear to anyone who has had the opportunity to see the group play live. Each August one of the group members, Roy Dreaning, organises ‘Gospel Fest’. This is a weekend of Gospel music that takes place in Banbridge, Co. Down. With over one thousand people attending each night, the event has attracted visitors from all over the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Laura Dowey regularly assists with leading worship in Newmills Presbyterian Church in County Armagh. In recent months her singing has been in great demand at many churches and concerts. Laura has also teamed up with Live Issue on several occasions and supported Eurovision winner, Dana, at a recent concert in Enniskillen Cathedral. Laura’s distinctive vocals fuse a blend of country and soul which brings a fresh approach to every song she sings.

Testify, a brand new gospel harmony group, will also be taking part. Testify consists of James Strange (Music leader for Voices of Praise and well known Music Producer), Diane Giles and Gary Lamont both from the Ballymena area. This group sang recently for an event at their church and then took part as a trio at Voices of Praise in November 2016. They are excited about God’s leading in this new venture for them.
