It’s the time to sign up for Spark 2016! Now in its tenth year, the annual Spark Ballymena outreach will take place from Saturday 23rd until Sunday 31st July 2016.
Volunteers are now being invited to sign up for the event, which has become a real highlight of the summer in Ballymena & surrounding villages and is eagerly anticipated by the general public and ‘Sparkers’ alike!

For anyone who doesn’t know, Spark gathers local Christians together in the Ballymena area to practically serve God and love others in a variety of ways, offering things such as free gardening, car washes, litter picks, youth drop ins, cafes, sports, music and late night events.
A total of 13 areas are set to be reached by Spark 2016 this year. Teams will be based in the following housing estates, villages and towns; Ballee, Ballykeel, Broughshane, Doury Road, Dunclug, Fisherwick, Harryville Kells, Portglenone, Randalstown, Toome, Tullygarley, not forgetting Ballymena Town Centre.
Volunteers wanting to sign up for Spark 2016, must be in Year 9 or above. The cost for the week is £30 per person (or £50 for two people from the same family), this covers the cost of your Spark t-shirt, food for the week, and goes towards the funds required to make Spark possible.

Encouraging as many people as possible to get involved, a Spark Ballymena spokesperson said: “God has moved in amazing ways throughout the Ballymena area over the past decade.”
“People who had previously only heard Jesus’ name as a swear word have experienced his love and care in a real and meaningful way for the first time.”
They went on to say: “Anyone who has a heart for God is welcome to get involved; Spark is not just for young people. Each one of our volunteers just serve the Lord together and have a blessed time as they do.”

NB: In recent years, Spark has also taken place in Newtonabbey. The outreach there will take place from Saturday 13th-Sunday 21st August. Applications to join the crew here have not opened as yet.
