Prayer Time | August 2014

‘And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people’ Ephesians 6 v 18

It’s great to know we can pray ‘all kinds of prayers and requests’, and so as another month begins we at The Church Page would encourage you to take time to pray for the many missions and outreach events taking place around Northern Ireland throughout August. Here’s just a few listed below to get you started.

SUNI CAMPS & MISSIONS – CSSM

We’re sure many of you have been to the seaside throughout July and were encouraged to see lots of kids involved in their local SUNI or CSSM beach mission. They do a fantastic job each year and please continue to pray for them as many camps and missions continue well into August.

Check out SUNI’s prayer diary here for the full listing.
The weather in July was fantastic for spending time at the beach, so pray that it would stay that way for a few weeks yet, and also that they will continue to be well supported so that many more of our children will hear the Good News of the Gospel.

SPARK 2014

Happening in the Ballymena area from Saturday 2nd – Sunday 10th August, and in the Newtownabbey & Garvagh areas from Saturday 9th – Sunday 17th August.

Here’s some points the Spark leaders would like you to pray for:

  • Give thanks for the support received from local churches, local councils and community groups.
  • Pray that God would use the Spark teams to be an effective witness to everyone in the various areas they will be working in. That God would be preparing the hearts of the people they will meet, and that lives would be changed and communities transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Also pray that God would prepare, equip and enable all the volunteers to be able to do all that’s been planned for this year, and that everyone will stay safe during all the activities. That God would use their experiences to draw each of the volunteers into a deeper relationship with Himself.
  • Finally, pray for all the various speakers & musicians who will be leading the morning devotions, all those involved in the prayer teams & the catering teams.

NEW HORIZON 2014

This year’s New Horizon takes place from 2nd – 8th August, held in the University of Ulster’s Coleraine Campus.

Please take time to pray for the speakers – Malcolm Duncan, Rachel Gardner & Vaughan Roberts, that God would use them in a powerful way to build up the Christians who attend and also that we would see many others coming to faith in the Lord Jesus.
Pray for all the Youth programmes taking place throughout the week, catering for children of crèche age up to 18 year olds.
Finally on a practical level, pray for the organisers & large band of volunteers who make it happen every year, that everything will run smoothly throughout the week.

Thank you for praying with us. We want to use the power of the Internet to spread this message and bring people together in prayer, so please retweet this on Twitter, share this blog post on Facebook and so let others join together with us in prayer.
