Christian Aid’s charity shop in the village of Garvagh near Coleraine has raised nearly a quarter of a million pounds since it first opened 10 years ago!
‘The Changing Room’ – Christian Aid’s only charity shop in the UK and Ireland – has raised £240,000 for the charity since the shop was founded by local grandmother, Rachel McCormick in 2016.
Rachel continues to be the shop’s volunteer manager and is supported by a team of volunteers who give a half day each week to sort donations, price goods and process sales.
Chief Executive Rosamond Bennett thanked all the charity shop’s volunteers at a 10th birthday celebration event this week.
Well done to Rachel and all the wonderful volunteers!
