Rodney Beggs, alongside his wife Sinead, has been installed as Pastor of Great Oaks Church in Magherafelt.
Interestingly, Rodney grew up in Ballymena Elim church and spent some time in Australia where he really rediscovered God again after a time of deconstruction. He remembers: “The Church I attended in Melbourne was Richmond Assemblies of God!
“My wife and I have been members of Great Oaks church in Magherafelt for 13 years now. I have led worship there for 12 years, became elder in January 2022 and now into this role as pastor.”
Rodney went on to say: “God brought us through the loss of our beautiful daughter Mary, and we owe everything to Him. He sustained us through His church, patiently watched over us as we healed and became stronger. It really was a time of either put our hope and trust in God or just allow anger and hurt to cause us to walk away.”
Both Rodney and Sinead have a very clear vision for the fellowship:
“Church should be a resting place for the tired, a hospital for the sick and a refuge for the broken. In His presence there is fullness of joy and at his right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalm 16:11)
“This was our experience, and we want to cultivate and facilitate that experience for those who come through our door at Great Oaks Church, whilst building a house of worship unto God and preaching and teaching His word.”
