Everyone at The Church Page was saddened to hear of the passing of Pastor Rosemary McAuley last Thursday morning following a short illness.
Along with her devoted husband, Robert, Rosemary founded what was to become Victory Praise Community Church, Ballymena, in 1986 as a small house meeting on Saturday evenings.
The fellowship grew and in 1999, they moved to their current building on the Pennybridge Industrial Estate in the town, becoming an effective presence for God there but also in the nearby Ballee Housing Estate where they launched a hugely successful Community Action Project.
Rosemary and Robert continued to Pastor Victory Praise until 2007 when the Lord called him into a travelling ministry where they helped and encouraged churches across the island of Ireland.
Their work continued right up until 2022.
Rosemary will be much missed by everyone who knew her – the fact that Ballymena Elim Church was packed to capacity for her funeral is testament to how much Rosemary McAuley was loved.
Speaking on behalf of the current congregation at Victory Praise Community Church, Pastor Stephen Johnson said: “As a church family at Victory Praise we mourn the loss of our Founding Pastor Rosemary McAuley who passed into the presence of her Saviour early on Thursday morning. Her life and ministry had a profound impact on so many people.”
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Robert, son David and daughters Diane, Lisa and their families.
