Belfast City Mission’s ‘Team McCaw’ celebrate summer 2019 success

September 2019 update

Paul, Lorraine, Cameron and Caleb McCaw have enjoyed a busy summer 2019 at the Belfast City Mission Hall in Mayo Street.

Their latest report follows.

‘In these days of hardship and uncertainty for many, we need to look to God for our comfort and security!
Thank you for your continued prayers for us, as a family! We had lovely family holidays in July and August, which were greatly appreciated.

Summer Kids Club

We enjoyed a great week with our Summer Kids Club team. We had approx 20 kids at Woodvale Park from 2:00pm-3:00pm each day where we enjoyed games and a message from God’s word. In the evening from 6:00pm–7:30pm approx 30 kids gathered to have fun, learn from God’s word, make craft items, and eat biscuits!!! On the last evening, we had a Fundraising Event, when we invited all the parents to come along with the children to get free hot dogs and tea, and then spend lots of money at our various stalls! This was very well attended by everyone which was really encouraging! A BIG thank you goes to all our friends who came along to help us serve at Summer Kids Club. We could not have done it without them!

130th Anniversary Year

On this our 130th Anniversary Year, we had the joy of having our first wedding in Mayo Street. What a lovely occasion and a beautiful wedding was enjoyed by all who attended.

Before our winter work began in Mayo Street, we put 1000 invites through 1000 doors in the area of our hall. On one side was information about all the activities we have in the hall and on the other was an invitation to an evening with Brian & May Gault, as part of our 130th Anniversary Celebrations. To our disappointment, no one came into this service from the area, only our old faithful’s. A few kids, who come to Kids Club, came with their parents, which was great though.

A new winter’s work is now underway in Mayo Street.

We have had up to 22 kids each week at Sunday School; 18 at Mums And Young Ones on a Tuesday morning and 48 Kids on a Wednesday evening at Kids Club. This has been an encouraging start and we look forward to a great year together.

Sunday Services continue as normal, with our Harvest Service being on Sunday 6th October at 6:00pm. Our guest speaker will be our friend, Willis McDowell and Cherith Bell will be our singer. If you haven’t made it to Mayo Street yet, why not come along and join us on this occasion. A warm welcome awaits you all at Mayo Street Hall!.

Prayer Meeting continues every Thursday from 7:00pm, with different organisations sharing about their work from time to time.

In finishing, can we please ask for prayer, especially for our Sunday Services. We really would love to see families join us on a regular basis, not just when the kids are taking part!
Thank you for your continued prayers & support in every way!
