When I Sing For Him – CD launch by Janice Anderson

Friday 22nd March 2019

When I Sing For Him – the title of the new CD to be launched by gifted Gospel singer, Janice Anderson. The launch takes place at Ballymoney Town Hall on Friday 22nd March 2019. Doors open at 7:15pm and the show starts at 7:45pm. Pay at the door £5.

This 12-track album is the follow-up to her 2015 recording, ‘Then Came The Morning.’ Like its predecessor, the compilation was produced by Roy Rainey at Upstream Recordings. Noted musician Mildred Rainey, (keyboards) also lends her talent to the collection alongside the exceptional talent of Ivan Gilliland on guitar and mandolin.

Native to Kilrea, Janice grew up within the farming community and has enjoyed singing since childhood.
She smiles: “Even as a little girl, I could always be heard singing in the back of the car. Coming from an era when all the big country showbands were at the forefront, I have always enjoyed country music.”

By her own admission, Janice is something of a perfectionist and, as a result, she finds it hard to highlight the standout tracks on her latest collection of songs. “The title track is one that I first heard on the radio many years ago and I always loved it. I always said that if I was going to record again, I would include the song, “When I Sing For Him”, she said.
Track eight, ‘When You Say Your Prayers’ is also special to Janice and will already be familiar to fans of Dominic Kirwan.
“The track ‘God Is Good All The Time’ means so much to both myself and my husband Stephen; as through his battle with prostate cancer, God has indeed been good and has carried us through this most difficult time.”
The afore-mentioned track is the lead single from ‘When I Sing For Him’.
‘Would You Believe?’ provides another standout moment because of the message contained within the words. It asks the question if Jesus came today would we believe in Him? Or, would we reject Him as happened 2000 years ago?

Janice is already getting excited about the Launch Night to support her new record in March.
Looking forward to this, she told us: “Martin Moore will bring his usual light-hearted banter to the evening as compere. Joining us will be male Gospel trio, Acclaimed. I have shared the stage with them before and three nicer guys you couldn’t meet.”

Veteran singer Nell Hire also plans to perform alongside the hugely popular Warren Smyth.
Janice enthuses: “I have never met Warren, but I love to hear him sing. He has a lovely tone to his voice.
In the text messages we have exchanged, Warren has been very encouraging and seems willing to help in whatever way he can. I am sure he has lots of other commitments. Nowadays it is refreshing when a top star like Warren is so supportive and helpful.”

Copies of ‘When I Sing For Him’ will be available to buy at the Launch Night for just £10. Afterwards, they will be purchased from McAuley’s Bookshop in Ballymoney. Click here for directions to Ballymoney Town Hall.
