Christmas was a particularly busy time for members of the Salvation Army Ballymena Corps.
As usual their annual Christmas Appeal, organized in conjunction with St. Vincent De Paul, was extremely well supported locally.
Toys and other gifts were distributed to 187 needy families in the area; many of these were donated by the general public.
Doreen Armstrong, who manages the Salvation Army Shop in Broughshane Street, Ballymena said:
“We would like to thank all churches, organizations, local businesses, and the general public for their continued support for such a worthwhile cause.
“As usual, it was a pleasure to work alongside our friends from the SVP who helped to pack and distribute the presents,” she added.
Doreen was keen to stress that the Salvation Army Ballymena are still collecting any unwanted gifts for the homeless people in our town.
If anyone has a gift they would like to donate, please leave it, unwrapped into the Salvation Army Ballymena shop on Broughshane Street.
