New Rural Dean for the Maghera and Kilrea – Rev Gary Millar
The Rector of the KIT Group of Parishes (The Parishes of Kilrea, Tamlaght O’Crilly Upper & Lower), Rev Gary Millar, has been appointed Rural Dean for the Maghera and Kilrea area, replacing Rev Rosie Diffin, who’s taken up a new role as Rector of Ballymena Parish (Kilconriola and Ballyclug).
Bishop Andrew Forster has praised Rev Rosie for her leadership in the rural deanery over the last few years and says he’s confident Rev Gary will rise to the challenge of succeeding her.
“Rosie is a hard act to follow,” Bishop Andrew says, “but I’m confident Gary will be well up to the task of filling her shoes. I pray that – in their respective new roles – both of them will rise to the challenge of serving God’s church and building His Kingdom. As all of us in ordained ministry are aware, none of us can rise to the awesome responsibility in our own strength. But, with God’s guiding hand behind them, I am sure both Gary and Rosie will prove to be wonderful servants of His in their future ministry.”
