Charity Concert at First Holywood Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church // Friday 27 February 2026
Members of Ballyclare Male Voice Choir will hold a charity concert in support of Stand By Me at First Holywood Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, 75 High Street, Hollywood, BT18 9AO on Friday 27th February 2026 starting at 7:30pm.
Stand By Me started in 1995 to meet the needs of 60 orphaned children in Lebanon. David Spurdle, a teacher from Hornchurch, visited Lebanon and saw some kids who needed help. He didn’t know how he was going to do it, but he committed to caring for 60 orphaned boys, so he founded Kids Alive UK that later became Stand by Me. Since then, the charity has rescued over 10,000 kids across 11 countries.
Each year, Ballyclare Male Voice Choir supports a charity; this year, choir Chairman, Rev Colin Campbell has selected Stand By Me.
A donation of £10 is suggested for anyone who comes to the concert, which will also showcase the vocal talent of Hayley Howe.
The choir is always happy to receive applications for membership. They have a varied repertoire of sacred, classical and contemporary music and perform in churches and other concert venues each year. Full details on the choir can be found at www.ballyclaremalechoir.com
