LIFE Outreach is a community drop-in based in the heart of Portglenone, created to be a place where people can come exactly as they are. At its heart, LIFE is about people, community and practical support.
Wendy is one of the team there. She was happy to tell us a little about what LIFE does.
She writes: “We provide a welcoming space where anyone can call in for a coffee, a chat, some company or simply somewhere to feel connected. Alongside our drop-in, Food for LIFE provides practical support through our food bank for individuals and families who find themselves struggling.
But we also want LIFE to be somewhere people know they can turn when life gets difficult — whether that’s financial pressure, loneliness, family difficulties, a personal crisis or simply needing someone to talk to. Sometimes people don’t need a solution; they just need someone to listen.
Our Christian faith is at the heart of why we do what we do. We believe that every person has value, deserves dignity and should be treated with kindness, compassion and respect. We want to demonstrate the love of Jesus through the way we serve our community, without judgement or pressure.
You don’t need to share our faith to walk through our door. Everyone is welcome.”
