Genesis Network was established to provide a platform for business people and marketplace leaders to live their lives with Christ as their Lord. It aims to support individuals in their professional contexts, fostering marketplace transformation, giving them the opportunity to be better equipped to make Jesus known in the Marketplace.
Launched in January 2021, it came off the back of a larger organisation CBMC – Christian Business Marketplace Committee, formerly Christian Businessmen’s Committee which started in Northern Ireland in the 1950s.
Genesis Network organises regular HUB meetings, including those in Lisburn, North Down, Belfast, Ballymena, Lurgan, and Northwest. Events are held monthly; the time and days are set by the local regional HUB leaders.
A spokesperson told The Church Page: “Individuals with a Christian faith and a commitment to live as disciples of Christ in their professional spheres are encouraged to join. We are for Christian business owners or ‘decision makers’ in their business. We also have Young Professionals for younger businesspeople who desire to be a business owner but are currently on that journey.”
“Our aim is to support Christian businesspeople as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of the marketplace in a way that reflects Christ. We also want to encourage businesspeople to seek personal transformation by the Holy Spirit leading to the transformation of individual businesses. These businesses have the influence to bring positive transformation to towns, cities and nations through the marketplace.”
Talking about their hopes for the Genesis Network, their spokesperson went on to say: “The plan is to expand the network by establishing additional HUBs. The network hosts various events, including Young Professional events, local prayer breakfasts, Equip events, and more.”
“Genesis Network aspires to continue growing, adding more HUBs and events, impacting the lives of business leaders across Ireland. The network envisions becoming a strong, supportive community that actively showcases Jesus in the marketplace.”
