New Director of Boys’ Brigade NI – Lisa Keys

The Boys’ Brigade Northern Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Keys as Director for BB NI. Lisa took up her post earlier this month and introduces herself here.

Lisa said, “It’s an exciting time to take up the position of Director of Boys’ Brigade in Northern Ireland and use my skills and experience to add value to the amazing work of the staff and volunteers.

“It’s also a very challenging time for every organisation as we adapt our ways of working to respond to the demands of this current pandemic situation. I feel that my skills, knowledge and experience gained from working in senior positions in organisations like CastleCourt, Pinsent Masons, Institute of Directors and Crown Jesus Ministries have equipped me well to lead the team as we navigate the challenges ahead. I’m also no stranger to Boys’ Brigade having spent an enjoyable number of years leading Anchor Boys.

In Northern Ireland, there are around 300 Boys’ Brigade groups, 2600 volunteer leaders and 14,000 members. The team at Newport has been working hard to support these groups on a remote basis, providing guidance and resources, sharing ideas from other groups, and having virtual conversations to help shape our continued engagement with the young people. I’m really impressed and encouraged by the efforts being made to keep progressing with the mission of BB even though we are constrained by the current restrictions.

“As we continue to adapt, I’m mindful of the great challenge we read in Philippians 3:13-14:
‘Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’

“Please do remember the work of Boys’ Brigade in your prayers – the leaders, the boys, the staff and all the volunteers who are striving to serve out its mission which is the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys.”
