Ballymena Church Members Forum Update – October 2020

Members of Ballymena Church Members Forum (BMFC) have had an interesting and blessed year.

Their chairperson, Jennifer McLernon told The Church Page:

“Friends, it’s almost 12 months since BMFC in partnership with Mid and East Antrim Borough Project launched our church and community arts project. While we were disappointed that the launch and exhibition of all artwork had to be postponed indefinitely in March 2020, the open air bus shelter trail remained in place for several months.

The project was entered for the UK/Ireland Epic Awards 2020 for which there are hundreds of applicants. On Thursday 22nd 0ctober 2020 at a virtual Awards event, ‘Care for Creation’ was announced 2020 winner for Epic Award Ireland!

The runner up was a Belfast based project Moonbase. The People’s Choice (UK and Ireland) award for which some of you voted for was won by a group in Tullyvin, Co Cavan – so Ulster did really well. We are particularly delighted for everyone who hosted, organised and participated in the arts workshops during last winter.

We still intend to hold a celebration and art exhibition when the conditions allow and will work with Rosalind Lowry,  our very supportive Arts Officer from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council on this.”
