First Grace is changing lives in Ballymena

First Grace is a non-profit evangelical Christian ministry committed to sharing the love of Jesus and meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of individuals who are facing financial insecurities, isolation or just need a helping hand.

Primarily, First Grace is operated by members of First Ballymena Presbyterian Church and others within the wider body of Christ. It has been a life-changing social and spiritual witness to dozens of families and individuals within the town.

The Grace4Kids homework team go into a local primary school to provide after-school support.
“We provide a snack as well as practical help with the completion of homeworks. We finish with a children’s story and some interactive tunes”, said a spokesperson for First Grace.
“Our mission is to demonstrate God’s love by showing that we care about how the children are doing in school. We want to show them that learning is important and that we care about their struggles because God cares.”

First Grace also works closely with the Ballymena Inter-Ethnic Forum as well as staff from Toybox, Surestart and the Local Education Authority to support children and families from different cultural backgrounds to access and integrate into pre-school services and activities within the education system.
As well as supporting underprivileged families by providing school wear and school supplies, the First Grace clothing ministry also runs each Wednesday from 10am-12.30pm. This supplies free clothing to people of all ages.
