News From The Romanian Christian Appeal

Trevor Boyd and his friends from the Romanian Christian Appeal have sent us the latest update on their life-changing work.

Trevor writes:
‘Ye also helping together by prayer’ (2 Corinthians 1 v 11)
Dear praying friends,
Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We would like to thank each of you who support us by your prayers and your giving to the work in Romania. It is now over 21 years since we first went there.

My wife, Annie and I visited Bucharest for six days in July. While there we stayed with Marin and Edith and their family who are doing a great work. We praise the Lord we were able to take out £6000. This was used to buy food and different items for these poor people. We made up over 100 food bags which consisted of rice, pasta, flour, cheese, sugar, cooking oil, biscuits, salami, toiletries and many other items. These were given to street people, widows, poor families and other needy people.

News From The Romanian Christian Appeal

Annie had not been out to Romania since 2012, so she was deeply moved as she still saw such poverty among these dear people. We were also able to leave money with some families for firewood. We gave a gift of money to a little Church who are constructing a new building in one of the villages.
We gave money to Sean and Shelia McAuley to help pay for two pallets of clothes and different items that were sent to Romania in a container.
Sheets, pillow-cases, curtain, towels, face-cloths, blankets, floormats and quilt-covers are all needed. If you can donate any of these, we would be glad to receive them.

We work closely with Willis Lynch from Londonderry and David Kennedy from Belfast. Willis left recently to drive a fire engine out to Moldova to spend some time with his dear friend, Margel, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Margel and his wife have been a great help to us over these 21 years. We sent £500 with Willis to help Margel and his family. This also helped to buy potatoes for poor families in Siret. David and two other friends spent two weeks of September in Bucharest and Moldova.

Finally, please pray for Desmond Colvin and I as we go back to Romania on Monday 5th November until 12th November 2018, God willing.
We plan to spend part of the time in Bucharest with Marin and then the latter part with Gabriel and his wife in Moldova.
