McCaw Family Reflect on a Busy Summer with BCM
The McCaw family reflect on a busy summer with BCM. Ahoghill family, Paul, Lorraine, Caleb and Cameron McCaw have enjoyed another very busy period at Belfast City Mission’s Mayo Street Hall.
Find out more about what they got up to in the article below.
The family write:
“September is here again! Where did the summer go? I think that’s how everyone feels as we get older. Life is going past so quickly. Therefore, if we have Christ in our lives we need to honour and serve Him diligently. As CT Studd rightly puts it, only what’s done for Christ will last!
What a blessed summer we have had. At the beginning of June, we had our Mums And Young Ones trip to Carnfunnock. There we enjoyed a lovely time at the park, had a picnic and a train ride. At the end of June, we had our Senior Citizens trip to Arthur Cottage in Cullybackey. Then on to Broughshane for a short walk along the river and around a few shops. We then had a late lunch and an ice-cream in 3Sixteen Cafe in Portglenone before heading home. Everyone enjoyed their day out!
We had lovely family holidays in July and August, which were greatly appreciated. In between times, we enjoyed a great week with our Summer Kids Club team. We had approx 20 kids at Woodvale Park from 2.00pm-3.00pm each day. Here we enjoyed games and a message from God’s word. Then in the evening from 6.00pm – 7.30pm approx 30 kids gathered to have fun, learn from God’s word, make craft items, and eat biscuits!!! On the last evening, we invited the parents to come along and hear what the children got up to all week. This was very well attended by the parents which was really encouraging! A BIG thank you goes to all our friends who came along to help us serve and support us in our work in Mayo Street. We could not have done it without them!
As the McCaw family reflect on a busy summer with BCM, they also look forward to the new autumn & winter programme.
A new year’s work is now upon us, with Sunday School beginning on Sunday 10th September from 3.00pm – 4.00pm. Mums And Young Ones starts on Tuesday 12th September from 10.30am – 12.00noon. Kids Club recommences on Wednesday 13th September at 6.30pm for P1 – P4 and 7.30pm for P5 – P7. We look forward to another great year together.
Sunday Services continue as normal, with our Harvest Service being on Sunday 24th September at 6:00pm. Our guest speaker will be Rev Mark Neilly and Seaview Presbyterian Praise Group are the singers. Everyone who comes along will be given a warm welcome.
Prayer Meeting and Bible Study also continues every Thursday from 7.00pm, with different organisations sharing about their work, once a month.
Praise God for His provision for the holiday season!
Give praise to God for our Summer Kids Club Week and team!
Please pray for the coming autumn & winter’s work as mentioned above.
Pray for new friends to join us at our various activities.
Pray for some adult help with Kids Club!
