Our Verse of the Week throughout July has been focusing on what the Bible says about rest. Hopefully you’ve had an opportunity for a break over the last fortnight or have a break planned for later. A time to rest, relax and rewind.
We all tend to lead very busy lives nowadays, but according to this verse in Mark 6, this was also the case for the apostles. Here Jesus encourages them to rest with Him after a busy time.
The apostles gathered round Jesus and reported to Him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some REST.”
