An Evening With C.S Lewis stars British actor David Payne in his powerfully inspirational one-man theatrical performance. Seated in his living room and in front of a warm fire, C.S Lewis recalls the people and events that inspired his thoughts and shaped his life. It looks at his friendship with J R R Tolkien. Why he nearly abandoned the Narnia Chronicles. Also, how he came to embrace Christianity and of the American woman who turned his life upside down.
Mitch from Crown Jesus Ministries told The Church Page: “Doors open at 7.00pm on Monday 3rd with the play running from 7:45pm-9.45pm, which includes a half-time break with refreshments. The unique venue will add to the experience. The building which is now the headquarters of Crown Jesus Ministries – 7 Calvin Street was a mill during C.S Lewis’ childhood years in East Belfast.”
CS Lewis is considered by many to be one of the finest Christian-inspired writers of his generation or any other. His ability to explore his faith using powerful images and complex yet readable narratives remains unmatched to this day.
An Evening With C.S Lewis production promises to give onlookers an insight into the man, his mind and the faith which continues to speak to many today through his numerous works such as ‘The Screwtape Letters’ and the timeless ‘Chronicles of Narnia.’
An Evening With C.S Lewis hosted by Crown Jesus Ministries is the only chance you’ll have to see this in Northern Ireland. It takes place at The Mill, 7 Calvin Street, Belfast on 3rd October, starting at 7.45pm.
The performance in East Belfast is part of a national tour for this inspiring play. However, the show at Crown Jesus Ministries is the only one happening in our province so don’t miss it!
