McCaw's Report From Mayo Street Mission Hall

The McCaw’s Report From Mayo Street Mission Hall –

Summer is over and the winters work is underway! This song by Chris Tomlin has came to my mind over and over, and I just feel it sums up the work that is still to be done in the great city of Belfast, where God has placed us to serve Him!

You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation Please pray for
You’re the light in the darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless
For there is no one like our God
There is no one like You God!
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this city!

People in our city (and country) are living in dark and hopeless situations. They need to hear about OUR GOD!!! We are trying to reach the people in our area, starting with the kids. That is why we had our Summer Kids Club Week from 1st – 5th August 2016. We had a brilliant week with approximately 30 children at Woodvale Park from 2.00pm – 3.00pm, despite the rain, enjoying games and a Bible talk. The same numbers attended Mayo Street BCM Hall in the evening from 6.00pm – 7.30pm, where we had a Bible Story, memory verse, quiz, songs, worksheets and crafts. We could not have done this all on our own. Michael Rooney, Anne-Marie Patterson, Brian and Carole Higginson helped us from Mayo Street and we had Adrian and Stephanie Lowry, with their family, Matthew, Sam and Amy, from 1st Portglenone and also Reanna Young, Rachel Fleck, Nikita Thompson, Aaron Smyth, Ailsa and Grace Hamill and Sharon, Rachel and Lydia Glass from Trinity Church, Ahoghill. A real bond was formed with our team and they were a real blessing to us, as a family! We also could not have survived all week without food and a BIG THANK YOU goes to Alastair and Suzie Hamill for cooking dinner for us each evening. It really was fantastic food and we thank the Lord for answered prayers!
Our next big event is our Harvest Mission from Friday 23rd September until Sunday 25th September 2016. We have special singing and a guest speaker each night at 7.00pm. Please pray that as the invitations go into almost 1000 homes that people would attend. Our prayer is that the Mum’s who attend our Mums And Young Ones would come along.
Over these last few months, we also have been putting together a web site for our own individual hall. Our friend Alistair Kerr has been instrumental in this venture and we are indebted to him for all his hard work. In receiving this prayer letter, we officially launch www.mayostreetbcm.com, so please take a look and this will keep you up to date with all that is going on in Mayo Street!
Once again, can we thank you so, so much for your continued prayerful support as we serve the Lord in Mayo Street and we are indebted, as a family, to those who continue to support us financially. May God Bless you all as you serve in this way!
