Friends of VisPa Fund Raising Events

Several Friends of VisPa fund raising events are planned over the next couple of months. Friends of VisPa is an Ahoghill-based Christian charity which is working to support a Kenyan Orphanage school and high school in Kisumu. These fund-raising events will support their life-changing work there.

  • On 27th-28th May 2016 a number of volunteers will hike continuously for 24 hours up Slieve Donard and another 50km in the surrounding countryside. The money that they raise will go towards three main projects: eye tests and glasses for the children, new latrines at the primary school and orphanage and towards the irrigation system on the school farm.

Friends of VisPa fund raising events to support the amazing work being carried out in Kisumu, Kenya.

A team will be going to visit VisPa in Kisumu, Kenya between 12th-21st August this year. The team will be doing lots of different projects whilst in Kenya including some building projects, art, sport, music/ choir and an optometrist is coming to test the children’s eyes and provide them with appropriate glasses. Last year Friends of VisPa volunteers also ran a drama project which the children loved. We are still in need of a team member to come along and facilitate this. If anyone is interested in coming along to do this, or join the team in another capacity it’s not too late!
More information about these Friends of VisPa fund raising events can be found on their website here. If anyone would like to join the team and take part they can email Alison Craig at alison@vispa-kenya.org.
