The McCaw family are busy serving God at the Belfast City Mission Hall on Mayo Street in our capital city.
The family have sent us their latest prayer letter which you can read below.

News from the McCaws at Mayo Street – March 2019

In the March 2019 update they write:
“This year Mayo Street is celebrating it’s 130th Anniversary and it is because of Christ’s Great love for us that it has stood the test of time. Christ has a reason for Mayo Street Belfast City Mission and a purpose for us to serve the people of the area, which we endeavour to do with love!

We praise God for His help over the busy Christmas period, that now seems so long ago! The Toy Appeal was well supported, and we thank everyone who gave to that. We were able to supply needy families with food and toys, to help them have a better Christmas. This was a blessing for us, just to see how much they appreciated everything. All our Christmas parties went well, with the kids and adults having lots of fun! Our Carols by Candlelight Service was also well attended which was encouraging!

Since the beginning of 2019 we have had a few Anniversary events which were well attended. We had a Testimony night by Margaret Cameron in January, and a Rainbow of Hope Puppet Ministry Family Service in February.
Mayo Street Mums And Young Ones and Kids Club continue to thrive, with new faces each week, which is a great blessing. We also have had many great nights of prayer at our Thursday night meeting and this has been encouraging. However, since Christmas our Sunday School numbers and Sunday Evening numbers have declined which is discouraging.

It is hard to believe that over the next weeks and months we will be organising and running end of year events, as well as other special services and events in celebration of 130 years. Please remember these all in your prayers, especially our Anniversary Mission in April. (See attached invitation & poem which will being going into every home in the area!)

As well as the weekly work and future planning, other necessary duties continue, like visiting the sick, the bereaved and taking outside meetings, so it can be hard to get the right balance between work life and home life. Please pray that we would get this balance right and never be too busy for our family or our spiritual life!
